The 1815 Rattrapante features a sturdy 41.2mm case in 950 platinum, with a matching crown and chronograph pushers that operate its settings. Powering the 1815 Rattrapante is the A. Lange & Söhne hand-wound L101.2 Rattrapante movement, a 365-piece construction in untreated German silver. The French word “Rattrapante” translates to “Catch Up” in English, which means that the watch uses two seconds hands to record multiple time intervals at the same time. The complex movement is responsible for the 1815 Rattrapante time display with hours and minutes, subsidiary seconds with stop seconds, the Rattrapante chronograph with 30-minute counter, and the tachymeter scale functions. The sapphire crystal caseback provides an excellent view of the movement in action, while the outer case features commemorative engravings signifying the limited release of 200 pieces by A.
