Alfonso Cuarón Disclaimer Adds Lesley Manville to Apple TV+ Cast

Apple TV+ has reportedly signed Lesley Manville to star in Alfonso Cuarón’s upcoming series Disclaimer. The show already has Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline involved.

The list of big names attached to Disclaimer is long and includes Sacha Baron Cohen, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Hoyeon and Louis Partridge. We still don’t know when the show is coming to Apple TV+, but this cast list definitely puts it in the “one to watch” column.

Apple TV+ confirmed the show’s existence last year, noting that it’s based on a novel of the same name.

Based on the novel of the same name by Renee Knight, “Disclaimer” will star Blanchett as Catherine Ravenscroft, a successful and well-respected television documentary journalist whose work has long been based on exposing the hidden transgressions of respected institutions. When an intriguing novel written by a widower (played by Kline) appears on her nightstand, she is horrified to realize that he is a key character in a story she had hoped would be buried in the past. A story that reveals her darkest secret. A secret she thought was hers.

It’s far from the first Apple TV+ show based on a book, of course. Titles like The Essex Serpent, Lisey’s Story, Dark Horses, and Foundation are just a few shows that began on paper before making it to the screen. Everyone involved hopes for the good reception these shows have had.

The disclaimer will be the first show to result from a multi-year deal Apple TV+ has signed with Cuarón, and it won’t be the last.

iOS 16 lock screen to help establish “a healthy relationship” with your iPhone

One of the standout features of the upcoming iOS 16 update is the ability to place widgets on the lock screen, while Live Activities will highlight more visible information without the need to unlock the iPhone. All of this, says Craig Federighi, vice president of Appel, is aimed at helping people “have a healthy relationship” with their iPhones.
