Apple is looking to open its first entirely new retail outlet in the US since September of last year.
In the latest edition of his Tabletops newsletter, Michael Steeber reported that the company is currently hiring for a new Apple Store in East Rutherford, New Jersey. According to his report, it will be the company’s first all-new location in the country since Apple opened Apple The Mall at Bay Plaza in the Bronx in September of last year.
Apple has started hiring for a new store in East Rutherford, New Jersey. This store will be the first brand new location in the United States since Apple opened The Mall at Bay Plaza. Job openings are listed on the Apple Jobs site under the “East Rutherford-NJ” location.
East Rutherford isn’t that big of a district, so I’ll leave it to you to figure out the precise location. I already dream it.
Apple stores in the US have seen slow growth in the US lately. Part of that is due to the COVID-19 pandemic, of course. The company has also chosen to remodel or relocate older stores. It also closed some stores and opened new locations near the current ones.
Fortunately, with one of these moves, the company either kept its existing staff or offered to move retail employees to other nearby stores.
No word yet on when Apple’s new New Jersey location will be open to the public.
