Backpack Hero, the roguelike title coming to EA on Steam
Jump into the dungeons, loot the epic loot but keep it organized in roguelike inventory management, Backpack Hero . Developer Jaspel, after a successful Kickstarter campaign, is preparing to submit their unique roguelike in Early Access. Starting August 15, players who purchase the game will be able to enjoy new features including two new characters, a handful of cool new items, weapons, and more.
Players take on the role of a brave adventurer who explores vast dungeons, collecting piles of loot and facing dangerous enemies with only what they can put in their backpacks. Fortunately, these heroes are gifted with an impressive skill: inventory management. Depending on where players put items in their backpacks, placement can alter their effectiveness. Some items, when placed adjacent to pieces of armor, will increase the amount of shields players receive from that armor. Other items gain additional bonuses when they have empty spaces below or above them.
The Early Access version of Backpack Hero has some new features for players to enjoy. The stone walls of the dungeons may look slightly different and players can expect brand new items, weapons and enemies. Additionally, new players will have access to the game’s two new characters: Tote the Frog and CR-8 the Robot!
- Hundreds of objects: each item has its own unique effect, and depending on where you put it in your backpack, it can be powerful when used in the arrangement.
- Multiple funny characters: venture into the dungeons as Purse the Packrat, Tote the Toad or CR8 the Robot.
- More than 40 enemies to fight: put to the test your courage and organizational skills against powerful enemies small and large and everything in between.
- Endless dungeons to explore: i Randomly generated dungeons mean that not a single playthrough will be exactly like the last one.
Backpack Hero will launch in Early Access on August 15th.
