Today, Nintendo finally announced a release date for PlatinumGames’ upcoming action game, Bayonetta 3.

The long-awaited game will launch exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on October 28, 2022. It’s also a worldwide release, so Western fans will be able to enjoy the quirky witch’s new adventure at the same time as Japanese gamers.

The announcement was made with a trailer that includes gameplay footage, showcasing existing and even new beloved characters. In particular, we meet Viola, a witch-in-training who fights with a giant katana, alongside her partner, the demon Cheshire.

The game takes place from the streets of Tokyo to the mountains of China, where players will encounter “a virtual coven of Bayonettas, each more fabulous than the last.”

We also get to see Bayonetta 3 “Trinity Masquerade Edition,” which features a 200-page art book and three special covers for all three games in the series that combine to form one panoramic artwork.

You can see a mockup of the edition below. So far, it has only been announced for Europe.
