Bitcoin shopping app now works at 175,000 ATMs in the US
Recent news has indicated that around 175,000 Hyosung ATMs will integrate the Bitcoin Buy app into their operations. The idea is to facilitate Bitcoin transactions between ATM operators and retailers using Hyosung’s machines.
US crypto retailers and ATM operators now have the ability to purchase BTC through Hyosung ATMs. The event occurred after Hyosung America signed a partnership agreement with DigitalMint. DigitalMint is a renowned Bitcoin and Litecoin payment rail point of sale provider in the United States. Their payment rails include bank transfers, ATMs, and ATMs.
The digital currency provider does this through software API embeds. The integration of software APIs allows ATM operators and retailers to make successful BTC transactions using the company’s unique machines.

But Hyosung also said that only some of its 175,000 ATMs are likely to support the BTC purchase app. In fact, each ATM operator will also have to decide whether or not they want to integrate DigitalMint’s services.
The API-based app store
According to Hyosung’s announcement, there will be further development of its ATMs. This will include DigitalMint’s digital currency services in its potential market of API-based applications. The company added that the app store for its ATMs is currently being built.
Additionally, Brad Norlan, CMO of Hyosung, shared his thoughts on the App Store. According to his statement, the sale of Bitcoin will not be the only benefit of the API-based application market for ATM operators. It will also create a platform that will provide operators with a host of new revenue streams.
Judging by the scale of Hyosung’s ATM network, DigitalMint’s services could be well exposed to customers. However, it is unclear whether or not these parties will enter into separate agreements. This is worth noting given that DigitalMint only offers two digital assets.
Hyosung America is not an independent organization. It is the North American subsidiary of Hyosung, Inc., a South Korean company. The company believes that it is the number one ATM provider in the United States.

Aside from the company’s ATM service, there is no record of the company’s involvement in the digital currency business. However, given the current development to create an API-based app marketplace, other cryptocurrency-related partnerships may follow.
