Popular retailer GameStop has announced that through its new distribution division Called GameTrust, the company is in charge of distributing titles from some important developers such as Tequila Works, Ready at Dawn and the independent developer Frozenbyte.
Tequila Works is the developer responsible for games like Deadlight and Rime. Ready at Dawn, for its part, has been behind important titles such as the classics Daxter and Okami, various God of War titles such as God of War: Chains of Olympus, God of War: Ghost of Sparta and God of War: Origins Collection; and more recently the PlayStation 4 exclusive The Order: 1886. Finally, you will recognize Frozenbyte from the successful Trine video game series, consisting of Trine 1, Trine 2 and Trine 3.
The companies have not yet announced a specific title to be distributed, but we currently know that Tequila Works is working on the colorful Rime, since their other title to be released soon, Deadlight: Director’s Cut Edition, will be distributed by Deep Silver.
As expressed by the vice president of international development of GameStop during an interview with MCV UK, the GameTrust company will be known as a company that will work with small titles and that will allow developers to keep the rights to your projectswithout GameStop getting in the way of “the creative side of development.”
