Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 after the successes and clamor of critics for ‘Revelator’ and, for the three-year-old Guilty Gear Xrd, the infamous fight game, fighting game in 2.5D with lots of animations and designs with very high and detailed ‘anime’ profiles , returns with some new characters, a consolidated and always fun fighting system (that’s why ‘team that wins you don’t change’) and the Anime to be the kit, almost to highlight all the virtuosity of animation and design of the house .

Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 doesn’t twist, and we wanted to see, the combat system which generated the fortune of the series. Techniques, combos, refined virtuosities that do not tire even after they had already been seen – in large part – even in the predecessors, and even after several hours of play and fighting to the death. Moreover, in this second chapter of the ‘Revelator’ we find two more playable characters, with the note Baiken and the brand new ninja, fast and ruthless, Answer.

Like, an already seen, but as said not at all boring, indeed, we find the possibility to use all the fighting characters and complete your personal story by completing the dedicated series. That is, by winning one after another the enemies that stand in front of you. Each of the characters, after each victory (or defeat) showcases the creative verve, in terms of history and art design, of Arc System Works.

But to decisively enrich what, in the ‘Japan’ style, it is one of the best fighting games for depth, combos, techniques and gameplay, as widely and not too covertly anticipated, is art design: the characters are a real explosion of Japanese-style art, colorful and highly detailed, each with specific peculiarities to show off; the fights are rich in details, well-kept, with truly meticulous and harmonious backgrounds with the (frenetic) context of the battles, which once again denote the attention for that art that should only be the background to a title born for gameplay more raw and pure.

Finally, it is possible to appreciate, if possible, even more the depth of the characters and their stories, with the story mode: narrated, as well as through the in-game cut-scenes, also through an Anime that highlights the merits of directing, a story that can be navigated by chapters and that completes the game experience, making the title a small masterpiece of the type.
