How to turn FaceTime on and off in Settings
There is an old adage in computing that most problems can be fixed by powering off and on the offending device. This is also true for a number of software, where stopping and restarting can fix the problem. The first thing to do if you need to troubleshoot FaceTime is to try turning FaceTime off and on again. That is how.
Scroll down and tap on FaceTime.
Press the switch again to toggle it to the green “on” position. Wait for FaceTime to wake up.
How to reset network settings
Of course, your FaceTime issues may be the result of issues with your network settings.
Tap Reset network settings. You may be prompted to enter your password to confirm.
Note: Resetting network settings will remove previously connected Wi-Fi networks, VPN settings, and change your device name to just “iPhone” or “iPad”.
You may want to try restarting your device as shown below before doing this reset.
How to restart your iPhone or iPad
If turning FaceTime on and off doesn’t work, and resetting network settings didn’t make any difference, you may need to restart your iPhone.
The methods to do this differ depending on the model of iPhone you have, so check out this linked guide for all the instructions you need.
Go ahead and FaceTime all your friends and enemies!
