How to turn FaceTime on and off in Settings

There is an old adage in computing that most problems can be fixed by powering off and on the offending device. This is also true for a number of software, where stopping and restarting can fix the problem. The first thing to do if you need to troubleshoot FaceTime is to try turning FaceTime off and on again. That is how.

  • Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
  • Scroll down and tap on FaceTime.

  • Tap the switch next to FaceTime so it flips to the white “off” position. Wait a minute.
  • Press the switch again to toggle it to the green “on” position. Wait for FaceTime to wake up.

  • How to reset network settings

  • Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
  • Press General.

  • Tap Reset network settings. You may be prompted to enter your password to confirm.

  • Note: Resetting network settings will remove previously connected Wi-Fi networks, VPN settings, and change your device name to just “iPhone” or “iPad”.
