IFA 2015: Samsung announces the Gear S2 smartwatch
Samsung announced Gear S2, the Korean manufacturer’s first smartwatch to mount a circular display and the operating system Tizen OS. Three versions coming to the market: Standard, Classic and 3G. The differences are to be found in the materials, the Standard model offers a dark / light gray frame with a matching rubber strap while the Classic version has a black serrated bezel and black leather strap. The 3G version, on the other hand, is identical to the Classic version but with the possibility of inserting a SIM Card inside to use the clock away from the phone.
Also revealed the technical characteristics, Gear S2 is resistant to water and dust IP68, has a Super Amoled display from 1.2 inch (resolution of 360 x 360 pixels), 1.2 GHz dual-core CPU with unspecified clock, 512 MB of Ram and 4 GB of internal memory. Also present theNFC for payments, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and light sensors, accelerometer, gyroscope and heart rate monitor. Contained the battery that on models without SIM will be from 250 mAh And 300 mAh for the 3G version. The manufacturer declares 2-3 days of autonomy and wireless charging.
Very interesting is the new user interface, characterized by a management via ring nut and side buttons: the icons are arranged in a circular way and many of the apps installed follow the same philosophy to better adapt to the type of display supplied. Video insights will follow.
The official presentation of Gear S2 will take place in two days at IFA 2015 in Berlin. THE prices they will probably fluctuate between 300 and 500 euros.
