MONSTER HUNTER RISE: Has a PC launch date and a free demo date
The critically acclaimed and best-selling Monster Hunter series reached new heights earlier this year with the global release of Monster Hunter Rise on Nintendo Switch.
Receiving widespread praise for its action RPG gameplay, exciting new features, and ongoing free post-launch support, Monster Hunter Rise is opening the doors of Kamura Village to PC players starting January 12, 2022.
Prior to the release of the full game, a free public demo will be made available on Steam starting October 13. In addition to confirming the specifications for Monster Hunter Rise on PC, new information has also been revealed for all players of Monster Hunter Rise including details on upcoming collaborative content and Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, the monstrous new expansion that will be available simultaneously for Nintendo Switch and PC in summer 2022.
Monster Hunter Rise is the latest installment in the action RPG series and transports players to the village of Kamura, a colorful and peaceful environment that attracts visitors with its unique culture and innovative hunting technologies. The basic gaming experience in Monster Hunter Rise stays true to previous Monster Hunter titles, where hunters must equip their own armor and select one of 14 different weapon types. As players defeat monsters and progress through the game, objects carved from fallen enemies can be used to create unique weapons and armor that will increase their chances of future success and survival. Hunters can tackle these challenges alone or with up to three other hunters in local or online co-op.
Monster Hunter Rise evolves the series by introducing several new and exciting mechanics for hunters to master. For the first time in a Monster Hunter game, wire grabbing actions can be performed using a standing or mid-air “Wirebug”, adding a new level of aerial maneuverability to hunting strategies and attacks. Additionally, the game features the “Wyvern Riding” technique, which allows players to temporarily take control of a monster and produces spectacular battle sequences during a hunt. The rise of the monster hunters It also introduces new hunting companions called Palamutes, custom, rideable “Canyne” companions that will provide players with a new set of attack options. Companions “Canyne” Palamute join the series’ favorite “Felyne” companions in assisting players on a hunt.
At launch, the full version of Monster Hunter Rise on PC will include all major post-launch content available in the Nintendo Switch version until the end of November 2021. More information on future content and timelines will be available at a later date. The PC version will feature customizable optimizations, which will allow hunters to enjoy their journey in 4K resolution and with ultrawide (21: 9) support, while also offering unlimited framerates and high resolution textures. Monster Hunter Rise on PC will be available on Steam on January 12, 2022 and is now available for pre-purchase. The game is currently available on the Nintendo Switch.
A demo for Monster Hunter Rise on PC will launch on October 13, giving hunters plenty of time to enjoy a taste of this new Monster Hunter experience before the full game is released on Steam. The PC demo offers players numerous hunting options, including offline single player and online multiplayer (up to 4 players) using all 14 weapon types. For new hunters, the PC demo will provide a “Training” option and a “Horse Wyvern” tutorial, each offering helpful tips and instructions. When the hunters are ready, there are three different hunting and monster missions to try, each with distinct challenge levels, from Beginner (Great Izuchi) to Intermediate (Mizutsune) and Advanced (Magnamalo).
After the release of Monster Hunter Rise on PC, players of both versions of the platform can look forward to the new Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, the monstrous expansion that will be available for purchase for all players in summer 2022. Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak includes a new storyline and a new base of operations, as well as new locations, monsters, game features, mission rank (Maestro), and more. Hunters must own the base game and complete the 7-star Hub mission called “Serpent Goddess of Thunder” in Monster Hunter Rise before starting Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. All progress from the base game will carry over to the expansion when played on the same system.
The identity of the new creepy monster featured in the Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak debut trailer has been confirmed as Malzeno, a ferocious elder dragon who will serve as the expansion’s flagship monster. Also joining the upcoming expansion, Shogun Ceanataur is a returning crab-like monster that first appeared in Monster Hunter 2.
For current players of Monster Hunter Rise , a creepy new Capcom Collab was also announced today and will feature the brave knight Arthur from Ghosts’ n Goblins: Resurrection ™. After completing a challenging event mission, players can don Arthur’s iconic armor and the hunter’s throwing knives to transform into spears, the classic weapon of the legendary series. Music from the recent Ghosts n ‘Goblins: Resurrection will set the stage for heroic hunting action, and when a mission is completed as Arthur, its winners will be awarded a special cutscene. This special collaborative mission will be available for Switch players starting October 28th.
Finally, and also for the first time revealed today, Monster Hunter is teaming up with SEGA to celebrate Sonic’s 30th anniversary in Monster Hunter Rise . More details on this exciting new collaboration will be shared soon, ahead of the release of the Event Quest in November.
