Source: ComoHow

It is understandable if you feel a bit overwhelmed when playing Monster Hunter Rise. After all, the game gives you access to 14 types of weapons right out of the box, so it’s hard to know which weapon style fits well with your favorite approach to monster hunting. But the wide range of options is also what makes it one of the best Nintendo Switch games. If you want something that can deal a lot of damage quickly and at the same time give you the ability to block, then the Sword and Shield is for you.

It is a great weapon for beginning monster hunters as well as seasoned veterans. In this guide, I’m going to go over Silkbind’s basic attacks, abilities, and best sword and shield building recommendations.

The sword and shield can deal the highest damage per second (DPS) of any weapon in Monster Hunter Rise. This is ideal for beginners and experienced hunters as it has a quick cooldown and allows players to use items such as potions even when drawing their weapon or blocking attacks with the shield. As such, players can chain attacks or block opponent’s blows if necessary.

The skills you develop really make a difference in your hunting sessions. In our experience, these are the most useful abilities for sword and shield.

Ability What it does Attack Boost As you can guess, this increases sword and shield attack. You will be happier if you reach level 4 or higher. Razor Sharp Allows your weapon not to lose its sharpness so quickly, so your sword and shield also do not lose attack power that quickly. Weakness Exploitation Exploits a monster’s weak points to deal additional damage. Critical Eye Causes an increased chance to receive critical hits.

Strike and guard

The sword and shield are a great weapon for Monster Hunters beginners and veterans. The ability to use items without storing your weapons makes it easy to heal with potions in a tense battle. Since the sword and shield do the most DPS of all other weapons, it is a deadly force when used correctly.

Review: Cozy Grove is a life simulation, but with a twist

If you are looking for a pleasantly spooky camping experience, enjoy life simulations, or just want to help ghosts, Cozy Grove is a laid back pacing game that you can easily spend a few hours on.
