Monster Hunter Rise Talisman Guide:

How to unlock talismans

Source: ComoHow

The first step in learning more about talismans is unlocking the Melding Pot. The Melding Pot is where you will make your talismans. There is no easy way to get the option, you must complete the 5-star village mission “Comeuppance” or the Hub mission “Hellfire”. Both force you to finish off Magnamalo, a ferocious beast that is not easy at all. However, if you play alone, you will want to give Village Quest a try, as it is easier. However, if you play with friends, you may find that the Hub mission is faster to complete.

Regardless of which missions you decide to do, you will unlock the Melding Pot when you return to the village. To access the Melding Pot, talk to Kagero the Merchant in the village or Maido the Merchant in the center.

Melding Pot options and abilities

Once the Melding Pot is unlocked, you can start crafting talismans. These are items that can be designed to grant specific abilities. You can create a talisman with up to two abilities and three spaces, which can be filled with decorations that can activate other abilities.

At first, you will have access to the Reflection Pool option, but you will unlock more options as you progress through the game. Here’s how to unlock each option:

Water mirror

This is the first fusion option that you will unlock in the game. The skills found here are primarily focused on elemental resistance and defense. You will unlock it by completing the village mission “Comeuppance” or the central mission “Hellfire”.

The abilities found in the Haze option are primarily based on elemental attacks and attack perks. To unlock, reach Hunter Rank 6 in Downtown Missions.

Moon arch

The skills found in the Moonbow option focus on critical hits and feats of weakness. To unblock. Reach Hunter Rank 7 on the Hub mission.

Twig of mystery

True to its name, Mystery Twig is just that: a mystery. The abilities assigned to your Talisman using this option are random and sometimes include abilities not found in the Haze, Moonbow, or Reflecting Pool options. To unlock this option, defeat the monster Narwa.

The Rebirth option is similar to Mystery Twig, however the difference is that instead of using monster materials to create, you will use other talismans. This option will also be available after defeating Narwa.

How to make a talisman

To create a talisman, you will have to sacrifice materials to endow your talisman with a specific ability. Higher-value monster pieces fill your score gauge faster, but be sure to enter only the exact point value required. There is no point in going over the limit and the extra points will be wasted.

The skill you want is not always guaranteed. You will be able to check your success rate on the left side of the screen as you go through the skills. The success rate depends on the ability, and if it fails, the Talisman will not have the ability and will instead be equipped with a lower level 1 ability. Also, the second skill and the number of decoration spaces are completely random. The chosen skill will only fill the talisman’s first skill slot.

To create a talisman, you will need to complete a mission. Fortunately, you don’t have to pass your search for this to count. You can align a maximum of 10 talismans at a time.

To get the most out of your Talisman, you will need to fill its spaces with decorations. To create decorations, you will need to reach Hunter Rank 4. Keep moving towards the downtown or village missions to reach the required rank. This will unlock high ranking missions, which will award jewels once completed.

Make the decoration you want and insert it into the corresponding slot. The available space must correspond to the level of decoration. So for example you cannot insert a level 2 decoration into a level 1 slot.

Tips and tricks to maximize your time

The skill level, number of slots, and skills applied to talismans are still largely based on luck, and there is no guaranteed way to get the skill you are looking for. However, there is a way to shred the materials so that you have a better chance of getting the right material. Completing the Rampage mission grants materials that can earn the large number of points required to fuse the talismans. The higher the rating, the better the materials. Completing Narwa Hunt also gives you a good team that will earn you a good amount of points.

You can complete an easy low-level quest to pass the time, but the quickest way to pass the time while waiting for the Talismans to merge is to start an Arena Quest and fail immediately. Arena Quest 5, for example, ends the mission after you’ve passed out once. Replay this level and fail over and over again to speed up the merge process.
