Today, Japanese developer TVT (which stands for Tokyo Virtual Theory) sent out a press release basically introducing themselves to the world and teasing their plans.
The company was actually founded in 2019 under Toshiyuki Yasui, who worked on the God Eater and Freedom Wars series, but now they’re ready to talk about what they’re working on.
First, the company creates Theory Engine, an in-house built middleware developed to support large-scale online gaming.
Their games will not only serve as the flagship for this engine, but they are also considering licensing it externally. Theory Engine is also developed by God Eater veterans.
His second project is codenamed “Project JabberWocky”, a rhythm action game directed by Hiroyuki Kotani with music composed by Kenmei Adachi. Both played the same roles in Sony’s Patapon.
The game promises a unique worldview and likeable characters, elements that also seem to bring back memories for Patapon. You can see some illustrations below.
The second project is codenamed “Project Shaz.” It is a multiplayer action game developed in Theory Engine and Toshiyuki Yasui himself is working on it as a producer. Tomokazu Fukushima, who has worked as a co-writer on several Metal Gear Solid games, is working on the game in the same role, while Kenei Nakasha is directing. He was the director of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven and also worked on .hack//GU
Finally, the art direction is from the illustrator of Lord of Vermillion, Kususaga Rin.
