Roger Dubuis presents two new Excalibur models in black ceramic
The Excalibur collection welcomes two new all-black versions.
While the art of timekeeping presents the wristwatch as a traditional tool, manufacturers continue to improve its design and technology through the innovative efforts of engineers. Roger Dubuis is establishing itself as a brand that follows its own pace, creating unique luxury watches that incorporate a vision or story behind each example. Roger Dubuis is proud to conquer the use of ceramics with two radiant new editions, the Excalibur Double Tourbillon and the Excalibur Monobalancier in black ceramic. Demonstrating its technical and horological supremacy, Roger Dubuis ceramics are solid black inside and out, four times harder than stainless steel. Roger Dubuis welcomes his new age of black by highlighting his watchmaking capabilities through two of his most famous models.
Excalibur Double Tourbillon Black Ceramic
The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Double Tourbillon features a 45mm all-black ceramic case, giving an impression of 3D depth thanks to its clean lines and strong visual identity. The skeletonized dial beautifully displays its double tourbillons, with the Roger Dubuis star levitating freely above the barrel. Roger Dubuis’ in-house RD108 movement aims to offer a lighter construction to improve its accuracy while offering an impressive 72-hour power reserve when the watch remains in its case. Maintaining a balance between finesse and durability, Roger Dubuis equips the new version with a black calfskin strap and a versatile quick release system. The new Roger Dubuis Excalibur Double Tourbillon Black Ceramic is limited to just 28 pieces and is currently available for price on request.
Black Ceramic Monobalance
The second model to receive the all-black treatment is Roger Dubuis’s Excalibur Monobalancier, an updated example that made its debut during Watches & Wonders 2022. After mechanical and aesthetic improvements, Roger Dubuis presents the 42mm watch in a case with a design similar to its double Double Tourbillon. The dial design represents Roger Dubuis’s star in a more prominent sense, using the micro-rotor and balance wheel as the center of contemporary watch design. Visionary engineers and watchmakers have multiplied technical improvements to maximize the performance of the RD 720SQ automatic movement, increasing its power reserve to 72 hours. An embossed black calfskin strap with a patented quick release system ensures maximum versatility while providing a perfect color match for the new black ceramic case. The Roger Dubuis Monobalancier Black Ceramic is currently available from an authorized retailer for $67,500. Check back on the duPont LOG for more news and releases on upcoming luxury watches.
