Snapchat still burns! Facebook launches the new Slingshot app, instant cancellation video chat

Facebook, ‘burned’ for failure to acquire ‘SnapChat’, is working on instant video messaging with cancellation, creating an App in competition with the popular antagonist. The Financial Times says the new Facebook app is already known internally as ‘Slingshot’ and could be launched as early as this month.

But there are those who do not dwell much on this attempt by Facebook to find a real alternative to Snapchat with Slingshot, they do not comment on Facebook, on the contrary, they let the many rumors that are going on. One of them claims that Zuckerberg himself is overseeing the creation of the new unsubscribe instant messaging app …

But what will Slingshot allow to do?

Slingshot will allow users to send short video messages and receive them. Where Slingshot and Snapchat differ is that the former has introduced instant video messaging, while Slingshot will offer the ability to send video messages that are deleted shortly after being viewed.

According to the Financial Times “Slingshot has been in the planning stage for the past few months and will most likely be a stand-alone application.” Mark Zuckerberg also said he was personally overseeing the project after Snapchat turned down Facebook’s offer last year to buy it for $ 3 billion.

This wouldn’t be the first time Facebook has launched a Snapchat-like app. In 2012 Facebook launched Poke, which allows users to “poke” as well as photos and other messages to friends that expire after a certain amount of time.

But, in order to avoid the same mistakes, Facebook has planned Slingshot in the smallest details, just so as not to fall into the old mistake made with Poke, which was seen by many as a joke, rather than an app that had to be taken seriously.

Self Facebook has learned from the mistakes made with Poke, they may be poised to unveil a serious competitor for Snapchat later this month. Let’s see what the well-known social network can offer us with its new app.
