The Carrera GT rally: a once-in-a-lifetime experience

With automotive experiences becoming more popular, there are plenty of options. However, they are not all the same, especially those looking for a more exclusive or luxurious event. For the Luxury Rally Club, they have set the bar pretty high for niche and luxury experiences with their recent Carrera GT Rally. This extraordinary event was designed for the legendary Carrera GT supercar and, of course, for the owners of the car.

It’s rare to see a car as iconic and unique as the Carrera GT among others of its kind, but the Carrera GT Rally saw 10 of them grouped together for an unforgettable experience. In fact, the only other cars in the rally were support vehicles that were on hand to help rally participants. Although the cars were a magnificent sight to behold, it was the overall experience of this rally that really set it apart from the rest.

For the Carrera GT Rally, the event began on Sunday, May 27, when the participants gathered in Alila Napa Valley, California. The day continued with cocktails served and everyone enjoying the many Carrera GTs in attendance. From there, the rally enjoyed a fine dining experience at the luxurious hotel where everyone had a chance to get excited about the upcoming week together.

It was Monday, May 23, when the Carrera GT Rally left Alila Napa Valley and made its way through a terrific day for dinner at the French Laundry, a three-Michelin-starred restaurant. Before the magical dinner, the rally traveled along the Shoreline Highway to Hog Island Oyster Co. for a waterside lunch and a chance to relax.

For dinner, the entire demonstration enjoyed a unique dining experience at The French Laundry, recognized as one of the best restaurants in the entire United States. If it’s hard enough to get a seat at this restaurant, it’s even harder to reserve the entire establishment. Yet that is exactly what the Luxury Rally Club team did for the Carrera GT Rally. Being able to deliver transformative stages throughout the rally is what sets LRC events apart from the rest.

The following day, Tuesday, May 24, the Carrera GT Rally departed from a second night at the Alila Napa Valley hotel to the Bahtenta Grill, where beautiful views of the valley and delicious food were served. After lunch, the group left for the Healdsburg Hotel, where they would spend the last night of the experiment. However, before bidding farewell on Wednesday, attendees enjoyed a fine dinner at Aperture Cellars.

In the beautiful Aperture Cellars, attendees enjoyed dinner while the awards for the rally were handed out. This winery was a perfect end point for the luxury rally as its surroundings are picturesque and the grounds were ideal for photographing the Porsche Carrera GT gang. But of course all good things must come to an end, as the rally ended the next morning.

Although the Carrera GT Rally is over, that does not mean that everything is over, as the Luxury Rally Club team is preparing for more events. As they should be after receiving rave reviews from rally participants. Here are some testimonials from those who participated in the Carrera GT Rally.

“Thank you Luxury Rally Club for organizing the best rally I have ever been to! We enjoy the best of Northern California. We look forward to what’s next!”

We look forward to seeing many more LRC experiences in the near future, as well as even more participants with great things to say. LRC founder Trevor Johnson notes that they are currently planning several events around Monterey Car Week and then a Mercedes-Benz 300SL rally that will see up to 50 examples of the classic car. He be on the lookout for newcomers from the Luxury Rally Club.
