The new MacBook Air is again scheduled for the second half of 2022
A new report from Digitimes reiterates that Apple plans to launch a new MacBook Air in the second half of 2022.
Digitimes says that Apple is seeing “hot” sales of its MacBook Pro (2021) from last year that have stretched into 2022 with “higher-than-expected” shipping volumes. In an excerpt, Digitimes indicates that Apple plans to launch a new MacBook Air in the second half of 2022.
This echoes several previous reports, with Ming-Chi Kuo previously predicting that the MacBook Air will launch in the second half of the year with an M1 chip, a new form factor, and exciting new colors. We also expect the new MacBook Air to be slightly larger than the current one, at 13.6-inches from 13.3-inches.
Expectations for the new device have been significantly revised. Various leaks and trusted insiders have already led us to believe that the new MacBook Air features a new generation of Apple Silicon, likely the M2 processor, along with the possibility of a mini-LED display. Both have since been revised, and the MacBook Air for 2022 looks like a much quieter upgrade than the MacBook Air with M1, which is one of the best MacBooks Apple has ever made.
