Samsung smartwatches come in different denominations: Classic, Active, Frontier, but there hasn’t been a Pro yet. The first is coming this year, according to multiple leaks, including new details from trustworthy leaker Ice Universe.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro is said to have a lightweight titanium case and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. It is not the first time that Samsung has used titanium, some versions of the Watch3 were coated with this expensive metal. But this will be my first time wearing sapphire.

Anyway, last month we heard that the Watch5 Pro would have a huge 572mAh battery. Well, big for a watch. For comparison, the Watch4 Classic 46mm and Watch 44mm only have 361mAh batteries. Certification documents from Safety Korea revealed that the 44mm Watch5 will have a slightly larger 397mAh battery. That still leaves the Pro with 44% more capacity.

It is not entirely clear if there will be a Classic model with the 5th generation. However, leaks suggest that Samsung is working on three devices, called “Heart-S”, “Heart-L” and “Heart-Pro”. Presumably, these are the two sizes of Watch5 and Pro.

So far, we haven’t heard of any more upgrades to the Pro over the standard model, but the reports keep pouring in. There could be more to it than just premium materials and a bigger battery.
