Week 11 review: Galaxy A73, A53, A33 official, Xiaomi 12 now global

Another week down, so let’s recap. Samsung has introduced the Galaxy A73, A53, and A33, all three with highly refreshed FHD+ AMOLED displays, 5,000mAh batteries, and 25W charging.

The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G will be available in select markets on April 1. Pricing for Europe starts at €450, the Galaxy A33 will launch on April 22, starting at €370. The price of the A73 has not yet been confirmed.

The Xiaomi 12 series has gone global. The Xiaomi 12 Pro starts at $1,000/€1,000 for an 8/256GB model, the Xiaomi 12 is $750/€800 for the entry-level 8/128GB model, and the Xiaomi 12X is $650/€700 for a 8/128GB drive.

Honor has announced the Magic4 Ultimate for China with a 1/1.12″ main camera sensor, matching the world’s largest on the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. The Honor Magic4 Ultimate Edition will be available in China later this year priced at CNY8,000 ($1,260/€1,140/₹95,600). It will be available in black and white.

The Redmi K50, K50 Pro, and K40S also debuted in China. The Redmi K50 Pro features MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000, the Redmi K50 opts for a Dimensity 8100 chipset, while the Redmi K40S comes with a Snapdragon 870. Redmi K50 Pro starts at CNY 2,999 ($472) for its 8GB of storage. RAM and 128 GB of storage. The 8/256 GB version costs CNY 3,299 ($520), while the 12/512 GB variant will cost CNY 3,999 ($630). The Redmi K50 starts at CNY2,399 ($378) for the 8/128GB version, while the premium 12/256GB version costs CNY2,799 ($440). The Redmi K40S starts at CNY1799 for the 6/128GB model, CNY1999 for the 8/128GB model, CNY2199 for the 8/256GB model, and CNY2399 for the 12/256GB model.

Finally, a word on the iPhone 14. The new renders apparently confirm the pill and hole design, rather than the current notch. Meanwhile, Ming-Chi Kuo said that only the iPhone 14 Pro (6.1-inch) and 14 Pro Max (6.7-inch) will have a new A16 Bionic chip, while the A14 (6.1-inch) and A14 Max ( 6.7 inches) will have an A15 Bionic.
