Xiaomi announced the new Xiaomi 12 flagship series, presenting three high-end devices: Xiaomi 12 Pro, Xiaomi 12, and Xiaomi 12X. The three smartphones are identical in appearance, except for the model 12 Pro that it has a larger display and dimensions and an enhanced photographic compartment. Let’s see them in detail.

Xiaomi 12: In the middle stat virtus

The “basic” version of the new range (152.70mm x 69.90mm x 8.16mm – 180g) brings with it the new processor Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, to date the most powerful on the market in terms of performance, equipped with 5G connectivity. The display is a 6.28 ”Amoled with a resolution of 2,400 × 1080 pixels, 20: 9 aspect ratio and 120 Hz refresh rate. There is also Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

The photographic sector uses a main sensor from 50 Megapixel – f / 1.88, 6P lens – with the possibility of recording also in 8K or 4K in HDR 10+ mode. It is supported by a 13 megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 5 megapixel macro sensor. For those who love seflie there is a 32 megapixel front sensor.

Great attention was also paid autonomy, a rather common trend in this period where almost all companies have focused on fast charging. Xiaomi 12 has a 4,500 mAh battery and is equipped with fast charging at 67W, which become 50W wirelessly and 10W in reverse charging, to power other devices.

The support is completed NFC, Bluetooth 5.2 and 8 GB of RAM, while for the storage one there are two versions 128 and 256 GB. The fingerprint sensor is located on the display.

Xiaomi 12 Pro: the super photographic

Even if the design is the same as the Xiaomi 12, the Pro version brings more generous dimensions and weight: 163.60mm x 74.60mm x 8.16mm – 205g. The display is therefore also larger, with a 6.73 “diagonal, always Amoled and with a frequency of 129 Hz, but with a resolution of 3,200 × 1,440 pixels. We always find it on board Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, the top of the range of Qualcomm processors.

Instead, the photographic sector changes radically, here in a more full-bodied version thanks to a 50 Megapixel main sensor with optical stabilization, – IMX707, f / 1.9 – 1 / 1.28 “7P lens – 2.44 μm 4-in-1 Super Pixel, supported here by a 50 megapixel ultra-wide angle (115 ° FOV, f / 2.2) and a third 50 Megapixel (48mm – focal length, f / 1.9).

As for autonomy there is also one slightly larger battery: 4,600 mAh and is always equipped with fast charging at 67W, which become 50W wirelessly and 10W in reverse charging.

Xiaomi 12X: with Snapdragon 870

The third device, Xiaomi 12X is instead the cheapest model of the range. Completely similar to the Xiaomi 12 model for measurements and technical equipment, it uses the processor Snapdragon 870 instead of Qualcomm’s top-of-the-range model. It is also available in only one memory version.

Speaker and cinema mode

Xiaomi 12 series 12 uses speakers Harmon Kardon powered by Dolby Atmos. Xiaomi 12 Pro has a very nice sound system with two tweeters and two woofers, while Xiaomi 12 and 12X offer stereo sound. As in the previous family of flagship smartphones, the devices of the Xiaomi 12 series have kept the One-click AI Cinema mode which offers t different options for making video-editing with the Parallel World, Freeze Frame Video, and Magic Zoom modes.

Prices and availability

Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi 12 will arrive on the Italian market starting tomorrow, March 16 at Xiaomi Store Italia, the main consumer electronics chains and at the main telephone operatorswhile Xiaomi 12 will be available at Xiaomi Store Italy and the main distribution chains. Starting March 24, all products will also be available on mi.com and Amazon. All devices will be available in Italy in three colors: Black, Blue and Purple.

Who will buy Xiaomi 12 Pro from 12GB + 256GB by April 30th in any point of sale participating in the initiative will receive the new Xiaomi Watch S1 in a bundlethose who will choose instead Xiaomi 12 from 8GB + 256GB will buy it bundled with Xiaomi Watch S1 Active.
