There will not be long to wait before discovering the fruits of the synergy between Leica and Xiaomi. Since the end of May, the German photography specialist Leica has signed a partnership with Xiaomi to improve the photo of the brand’s smartphones. For Xiaomi it is “a decisive moment” and the opening of a “new era”. In other words, the manufacturer is very ambitious about its next devices.

The wait is now coming to an end, Xiaomi has announced a conference for July 4th in China which leaves little room for doubt.

The date was announced by Xiaomi founder Lei Jun via Twitter. The conference will take place on July 4th at 1pm (Italian time) and will allow you to discover the “latest innovations, Xiaomi smartphones developed with Leica to open a new era in imaging”.

While a launch dedicated to Xiaomi 12 Ultra was initially imagined, it will actually be a new range of devices. So we should have a Xiaomi 12S, a Xiaomi 12S Pro and a Xiaomi 12S Ultra. In this configuration, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will never see the light with this name. The brand probably made this choice to mark a break with the Xiaomi 12 generation, developed without Leica.

Xiaomi’s Ultra smartphone is said to be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip, a 6.7-inch QHD + 120Hz display, and a 4800mAh battery. It remains to discover the intriguing features of the camera and be able to test it for yourself when the device arrives in Europe.
