Xiaomi Poco C40 released on June 16
An official-looking banner for the online launch of a new Poco C40 phone recently appeared online. According to her, the new model will be unveiled on June 16.
The Poco C40 has yet to feature in as many rumours, but it does have a major name leak that suggests it could be a rebranded Xiaomi Redmi 10C (Global), which itself shares most of its specs with the Redmi. 10 (Indian). You can see a comparison of the trio here.
Although it looks the same on the outside, there are slight differences between the phones and from what we currently think the Poco C40 should be based on the Redmi 10 (India) which is arguably the better option of the two mainly for its battery. larger than 6,000 mAh.
Other than that, we expect the Poco C40 to have a basic 6.7-inch 60Hz HD+ LCD display with a teardrop notch for a 5MP selfie camera. The rest of its purported camera setup includes a 50MP, f/1.8 main snapper and a 5MP depth sensor.
In terms of internal components, the Poco C40 is expected to be based on the Snapdragon 680 4G chipset paired with 3GB 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of UFS2.2 expandable storage. Some other purported specs include dual SIM support, 3.5mm jack, IR blaster, FM radio, rear-mounted fingerprint reader, Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and NFC in some markets.
There’s no word on pricing yet, but we’re clearly looking at a budget device. Seeing how the Xiaomi Redmi 10C currently sells for around 150 euros and the Redmi 10 (India) even less, we can assume a price of just over 100 euros. Especially for the base model Poco C40 with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.
