Your iPhone can now act as a remote for Google TV or Android TV

Google has released a Google TV app for iOS, which allows iPhone and iPad owners to use their phone or tablet as a remote for Google TV or Android TV devices.

The app, which has been available for Android for some time, has now been released for users of the division and will replace the outgoing Play Movies & TV app.

The app comes with a number of useful features for iPhone and iPad users, including the ability to use the Google Assistant to search for content and the phone’s keyboard to enter passwords instead of fiddling with the TV remote.

Google/Android TV users will be able to create a unique watchlist from within the app that will translate directly to your larger TV screen, while there are also recommendations from other apps you subscribe to. There is a Featured tab, a For You tab with recommendations and watchlists of your favorite actors and actresses.

“Your watchlist, your recommendations, and the movies and shows you previously rented or purchased with your Google account are with you, whether outside the front door or just in the other room, so you can watch them wherever you go. the company wrote in a blog post on Wednesday.

Google reports that two-thirds of people in the United States search for what to watch on their phone every day, while half of people actually watch on their phone.

Now iPhone users will be able to find what they want to watch on their Google TV/Android TV when they get home from work.
