RuneScape celebrates its first anniversary on IOS and Android with a free treasure

Today Jagex celebrates the first anniversary of the full commercial launch of RuneScape on mobile platforms. To commemorate the occasion, RuneScape players are entitled to a mine of free items to increase XP and unlock hidden treasures.

The expansion of RuneScape to mobile devices has brought full cross-platform play and progression, allowing players to switch between PC and mobile platforms. It comes complete with all the missions, characters, lore and locations from 20 years of living game history. Over 40% of all RuneScape members play on mobile every month.

Both members and free players will be gifted with five Treasure Hunter keys that unlock chests by rewarding players with a random prize of varying degrees of rarity. As part of the anniversary, players will also receive a small knowledge bomb that is used to receive a 50% XP boost for a limited time, as well as the Bull Outfit.

Meanwhile, RuneScape has recently been updated with the exciting new mission, Twilight of the Gods. This serves as a bridge between the epic conclusion of Elder God Wars and the biggest boss battle in RuneScape history against Zamorak, the Lord of Chaos, towards the end of the summer.
