The developer and Japanese distributor Square Enix has just made public news that will probably upset many gamers in Japan who have not yet taken the step towards the current generation of consoles; specifically talking about PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4.
The company has confirmed that Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness will only be available for PlayStation 4 at launch, since the PlayStation 3 version has been delayed for about a month, apparently as a result of the company’s efforts to optimize the game enough to make the most of the hardware and attempts to improve the quality of the final product.
The title will now be available in Japan this next April 28 for PlayStation 4 while it will arrive on PlayStation 3 approximately a month later. Regarding the West, we know that Star Ocean 5 will be exclusive for PlayStation 4 and will not have a version for the last generation.
