The drummers of the band Charlie Brown Jr, Pinguim Ruas and Bruno Graveto, who share the stage on the “Celebração 30 Anos” tour, come together to perform the “Workshop Bateras CBJR” throughout Brazil. The goal is to provide fans with insights into the band’s percussive history, their careers and relive the great classics in a unique musical experience.
Pinguim, starting his contact with the drums at the age of 4, led the drums for Charlie Brown Jr from 2005 to 2008. He will share details of his contribution to the seventh and eighth studio albums, Imunidade Musical (2005) and Ritmo, Ritual e Responsa ( 2007), in addition to the DVDs Skate Vibration (2005) and Ritmo, Ritual e Responsa ao Vivo (2008).
Graveto, experienced since he was 12 years old, took over the drums for Charlie Brown Jr from 2008 to 2013. During this period, he participated in the creation of the albums Camisa 10 Joga Bola À na Chuva (2009), Música Popular Caiçara ao Vivo (2012) and La Family 013 (2013). He also contributed to the DVDs Música Popular Caiçara ao Vivo (2012) and Chegou Quem Faltava, recorded in 2011 and released in 2021.
The workshop arises from the drummers’ experience during the “Celebração 30 Anos” tour, where they have been playing simultaneously for more than a year in several Brazilian cities. The collaboration of two drums, something rare in the national music scene, is a show of respect and mutual admiration, providing an enriching and unique experience for fans.
Bruno Graveto highlights: “We are two drummers playing together the story that we built at different stages of the band and we understand that it is a team and will never be a competition.” Pinguim Ruas adds: “It will be a special moment for Charlie Brown Jr fans to be close to the two heats. It’s that magical thing, of getting closer and taking away the curiosity of how the two drums work together.”
In addition to performances, the workshop will provide discoveries about the instruments used, techniques applied and insights into the essential elements of drums, such as cymbal, hi-hat, floor tom, snare and kick drum sizes.
