The annual flurry of Prime Day deals is here and if you’re looking for cheap Apple tech, you can’t miss this fantastic iPad Air deal.

Amazon currently has reduced the asking price of the 2020 edition of the excellent iPad Air by £100, taking it from £519 to £419. That’s a fantastic price for a tablet we gave it a full 5 stars when we reviewed it.

While this may not be the latest version of the iPad Air, the differences between this deeply discounted model and the one Apple currently sells are minimal. We’d even say that this older model is actually better built than its successor, as we noticed that the newer version tended to creak when in use when we reviewed it.

This particular deal is for the 64GB model, which is a good amount of storage for most people and comes in a subtle space gray hue.

Specs include a very nice, bright and colorful 10.9-inch LCD screen, the very capable A14 Bionic chipset that can easily handle even the toughest of games, and a good-sized battery that will hold up to even the busiest of days.

There’s also a TouchID fingerprint sensor built into the power key for quick authentication, the promise of an iPadOS 16 update later this year, and all the great apps that give you access to the App Store.

When we reviewed the iPad Air in question, we said: “The iPad Air 4 is a really great tablet, especially for the £599/$599 price. This makes even the 11-inch iPad Pro a tough sell, as the only real benefit is the faster display (among other small differences, like the addition of LiDAR).
