Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune recently stated through a Press release that he would first like to apologize for the long wait he kept fans and donors on, although he now has a “final date” for Mighty No. 9 to June 21, 2016 in North America and Asia, to later be launched in the rest of the world June 24, 2016.
This release date applies only to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U and PC desktop platforms. Regarding the handheld versions of the game, PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS will receive the game “at a later point” after the first release, and although no specific data was provided we can confirm that development of these versions has not been canceled.
Fortunately the game is already in gold phase. This means that the development of it The technical part has already been completed, although now a series of details related to the advertising and distribution of the game need to be polished. In this last aspect, the company is working in “the final steps to put the game in your hands, whether through your favorite retailers or through the most popular digital content channels.”
Inafune concludes by adding that very soon the study will find a way to answer to the constant questions such as “how long it will take to complete the game’s campaign in normal mode” and “how many people will be able to complete the game in Maniac mode.”
