‘Monster Boy’ spiritual successor to the mythical ‘Wonder Boy’ will arrive on PS4 this year

If you are one of those who, like me, are well over thirty years old, you will surely remember the hours you once spent in front of some arcade machine, playing and spending 25 peseta coins freely on the now classic Wonder Boy. That game in which a nice boy on a skateboard went to rescue his princess became a classic of yesteryear and many of us still can’t get its levels and notable difficulty out of our minds.

Thirty years have passed since the launch of the game and that is why its creator has decided to launch a title that will become the spiritual successor of this classic. In addition to this, on the official PlayStation blog they have announced that the game will arrive this year on PlayStation 4.

We are celebrating! 2016 is the 30th anniversary year of the beloved Wonder Boy saga, which began as a simple but solid arcade game developed by Escape (later known as Westone). The last game in the series was Monster World IV (1994), and nothing more has been heard from it for more than 20 years. Have you heard about her?

The title will have 1080p and 60 fps graphics, and will also have a luxury soundtrack, reissuing classic songs from its predecessor and new ones created by Yuzo Koshiro responsible for soundtracks such as Street of Rage or Actraiser among others.

At the moment there is no official release date or price, we will keep you informed of any news in this regard.
