Sony will not allow PlayStation VR games to be released with less than 60 FPS

In accordance with the latest statements from Sony engineer Chris Norden, developers will have to make their games actually reach 60FPS at least if they want their games to reach the market with helmet holder PlayStation VR.

The main reason for this was explained during a conference about PlayStation VR at the Game Developer Conference, and it is because Sony will probably reject games with low frames per second ratio because frames are the key to offering a smooth experience and enjoyable Virtual Reality.

In their own company words“frame rate is really important; you can’t go below 60 frames per second, ever. If a game submitted for review drops below 55 or 51… we’re probably going to reject it. I know I’ll get criticized for this, but don’t “There is an excuse for not reaching that frame radius.”

He also states that reaching 60 FPS is not easy, but it is extremely necessary. “It’s really difficult and I won’t lie to anyone saying it’s extremely easy, it’s very difficult. However, 60hz is the minimum frame rate we will accept. Everyone get that in your head.”
