NetherRealm Studio launched mid last year the latest installment of the popular close-quarters combat franchise, Mortal Kombat X, which was released exclusively for PlayStation 4 and other current-generation platforms; a version for PlayStation 3 had been plannedbut had to be canceled shortly after.
As has happened in the last installments of the series, players have access to additional characters as long as they purchase the “kombat packs” for a certain price. The most recent kombat pack, “Kombat Pack 2”, includes the characters Leatherface, Alien, Tri-Borg, and Bo Rai Cho. The developer has now announced that during this weekend we will be able to access these new characters for free in Who’s Next” mode, until March 7, 2016.
