Cyber Citizen Shockman and Cyber Citizen Shockman 2: The New Menace Blitz Test – Double Nothing

There are many old video games waiting to be modernized, anyone could list what they long for in the depths of their soul, what they would push aside in a more modern version after 10-30 years. The Polish publishing house Ratalaika has now brought us a PC Engine “hit”, which people liked more in Japanese in the ’90s, as it can now be enjoyed for the first time in English. It’s side-view action, reminiscent of a more tubular Mega Man, but served up in a different approach. The publisher’s latest game was Cyber Citizen Shockman 2: The New Menace, but they were kind enough to send me the first one for testing, so I’m taking them under a hat now.

Both creations belong to the subcategory of cheap goblets/acsiks, so you don’t have to sweat blood to complete them. Or maybe, just maybe not recommended. 😀 You can play an episode in half an hour, provided you activate the immortality cheat in the menu. I tried the stuff without it, but the first level of the first part is not enjoyable when pushed normally.

You can go on adventures alone or as a couple, in the first part our heroes are still wielding swords, in the second part there are squishy, Mega Man-like annoying platform elements. There is a mandatory boss at the end of each level, which becomes overused after a while, because only its color changes many times.

We can decide where to go on the map, and we get more rewards after the levels. We can use our money to buy improvements and recharge our life energy. Jumping and hitting/shooting will be what we can make use of – as I said, it’s enough to run through and sweep away the enemy at the end of the track. Playing properly, you should avoid, crouch, jump over projectiles, and engage in cheap platform “trench battles”. We’re not talking about a cult cool title, no matter how much its description sounds like it. The software also includes the original old Japanese copy, and you can also view illustrations.

We can’t even talk about works that fill gaps, I would have already forgotten them if I didn’t have to write this article. However, the two Cyber Citizen Shockman games are perfect for an easy, fast and cheap platinum/1000gs boost.

The test copy was provided by the game publisher.
