Apple has just released the new watchOS 10.1 version, adding “Double Tap” on new compatible Apple Watches.

Apple has just now released the new update for all compatible Apple Watches, namely watchOS 10.1, adding several new features to the Apple Watch and solving some problems, such as anomalous battery life draining on some models.

What’s new in watchOS 10.1

  • Added the NameDrop function, which allows you to exchange contacts;
  • Added the Double Tap function, which allows you to start an operation with two fingers;
  • Fixed a major abnormal battery life drain on some Apple Watches;
  • Fixed major security flaws on all compatible Apple Watches;
  • Improved system performance, stability and security;
  • Minor fixes.

To update, simply go to the “Watch” application on your iPhone, then search for General/Software Update.

Official compatibility

  • Apple Watch Ultra 2;
  • Apple Watch Series 9;
  • Apple Watch Ultra;
  • Apple Watch Series 8;
  • Apple Watch SE 2;
  • Apple Watch Series 7;
  • Apple Watch SE;
  • Apple Watch Series 6;
  • Apple Watch Series 5;
  • Apple Watch Series 4.

NOTICE: If the update still doesn’t appear on your Apple Watch, you just have to wait, as Apple’s servers often get clogged up at these times.

Obviously I recommend everyone to download the software, also because each new update must be performed, both to have greater general security of the system, also in terms of privacy, and to have all the relevant news, and the resolution of any possible problems.
