No new “iPad or Mac” will launch in 2023

According to what the source reported today, Apple is not expected to introduce any new iPad or Mac for the rest of 2023.

Apple is realistically unlikely to release any new 2023 Macs or 2023 iPads for the rest of the year, according to a series of predictions shared in recent weeks by world-renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Last month, Kuo had already informed the web: “Apple is unlikely to release new MacBooks with M3 chips this year.” All existing MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models currently feature M2-series chips, so any new model would presumably feature an M3 chip.

Earlier this week, Kuo added that the rumored new 2023 24-inch iMac would only be updated in 2024, ruling out a refresh of the all-in-one desktop computer this year. All other desktop Macs, including the Mac mini, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro, have already been updated in 2023 and are very unlikely to be updated again until late 2024.

As for the world of iPads, again last month, Kuo also reported an unlikely release in 2023, given that Apple is about to make a big leap with OLED screens.

Predictions spoke of a new iPad Air 6, iPad mini 7 and entry-level iPad 11, but nothing materialized, perhaps because updating Macs and iPads continuously is not “necessary”.

In the meantime, however, there is talk of a possible FOLD iPad, arriving as early as 2024 or early 2025, as confirmed by a report from DigiTimes, which cites several sources in the Apple supply chain, stating that the company is working on a FOLD iPad, for mass production right by the end of 2024. To be precise, the well-known Taiwanese site believes that the device can realistically arrive by the end of 2024 or early 2025, but only if current progress remains stable.
