The month of October will be virtual reality month on PlayStation, and Sony will launch its helmet to the world PlayStation VR to take video games to another level in terms of immersion by getting fully into games like never before.
But PSVR will not only live on video games, and in addition to the exclusive titles that different companies will launch for the peripheral, we will be able to enjoy the Cinematic Mode in any game in the PS4 catalog, as well as different audiovisual content, including the series and movies that we have through services such as Netflix.
Precisely Netflix will be an important partner for PlayStation VR, as one of Sony’s bosses Shuhei Yoshida assured during the last GDC. It is possible that, just as series are being broadcast exclusively for this video purchase and rental service, some studios are already working on content adapted to virtual reality, which would be another incentive to spend the 400 euros that the helmet will cost. However, we will have to wait for Sony and Netflix to give more details about their agreement.
