Sumo Digital is now the developer of ‘Dead Island 2’

The popular developer Deep Silver presented during E3 2014 a cinematic trailer which left the players with high expectations, which they probably maintain until now. It is nothing more and nothing less than the sequel to the popular Dead Island, a delivery that has gone without luck from one delay to another and its cancellation has even been rumored on many occasions.

If you are fans of the series, you will probably be excited know that the title is still in development, only now the creation process will be carried out by Sumo Digital, according to the MCV news outlet. The game was for a long time in development by Yager Development, but Deep Silver decided to end their agreement in search of getting “the sequel that the Dead Island series deserves.”

You can find some of the words from Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, the CEO of Koch Media, below:

Sumo showed too much understanding of the brand, had creative ideas and a great vision that aligns with ours. It just made perfect sense for us to pass the project on to them. We’ll reveal more details soon, but for now we’d like to say that we’re obviously super excited about the progress we’re making with them.
