The Crackpet Show Happy Tree Friends Edition Test – Nice little bonus

Cheerful forest animals kill each other in heaps or suffer fatal accidents. This was the Happy Tree Friends, or, as they were known in our country, Tündi Bündi Friends. They are returning for the first time since 2016 as part of a cross-over, cooperating with the 2021 video game The Crackpet Show.

According to the basic concept, within the framework of a very bloody TV show, small animals compete with the dangers that come upon them in the waves. Their performance is rewarded with likes, at the end of the rounds they can choose where they will go next, and then they have to stand against a bigger creature at the end of the show. The entertainment program is divided into three seasons, with 6 episodes per season.

The program is incredibly compatible with Happy Tree Friends, as if the characters were dreamed up there. With a switch in the main menu, you can set it to play the original or the boringly familiar HTF theme song. Essentially, after this, a significant change is that the audience on the levels cheers with HTF banners, and we can take the beloved characters with us to kill. Lumpy, the single-minded blue moose, will be the presenter, who will provide us with information between the tracks – unfortunately, he is not a playable character. However, crackpets are joined by characters such as Cuddles, Flaky, Giggles, Toothy, Nutty, Sniffles and Handy, etc.

Its cartoon world and brutality suit the stuff well, the splattered blood and body parts really evoke Happy Tree Friends. Dozens of weapons, special tools and perks are included in the program, which can be upgraded with the coins received for successful episodes. There are four allocations to choose from to begin with, but after a few screens you can switch equipment. The program is roguelite, so it only rewards successful runs. By defeating the main enemies, we can exchange our trophies with sponsors for benefits (more lives, less damage, etc.). You can enjoy the shows alone or even with four people, and after completing a third of the game, you can even test your skills in an endless game mode.

The Crackpet Show is an enjoyable, short-lived piece of entertainment. And with the addition of Happy Tree Friends, you can also win over people who are not fans of the genre. It’s not the best rougelite in terms of content, but it might be worth trying.
