This lightweight Porsche 992 911 Turbo S is getting ready for the 2022 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb

The Porsche looks to show off its factory performance at Pikes Peak.

Billing itself as one of the toughest speed circuits in motorsport history, the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb continues to push manufacturers and teams to the limits of their performance. This year is proving to be a special one for the annual 12.42-mile uphill expedition, as the riders will compete in the 100th race of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. One of the daring drivers looking to tackle hilly curves is three-time king of the hill David Donner, who is aiming to set the production car record behind the wheel of a 2022 Porsche 911 Turbo S. Knowing Your Way A Porsche , Donner has teamed up with Porsche collector Jim Edwards and 000 editor Pete Stout to win the 2020 Pikes Peak Time Attack 1 class in a 911 GT2 RS Clubsport.

Donner and his team’s track weapon is a 2022 Porsche 911 Turbo S that went straight from a showroom to the race shop for competition prep. The once-standard exterior livery features the “Print Isn’t Dead” theme, incorporating bold colors and magazine graphics that pay homage to Porsche’s early marketing efforts. As the new 911 Turbo S lightweight package sheds 80 pounds, the 640 horsepower harnesses additional torque to beat the previous record of 10 minutes and 18.488 seconds set by a Bentley Continental GT in 2019. David Donner prepares to face the Pikes Peak 2022 International Hill Climb on June 26, so stay tuned to see if the 992 Porsche 911 Turbo S wins the new title of fastest production car to tackle the uphill race.
