For those of you who are not familiar with 1666 or 1666: Amsterdam, it is the code by which the project is known secret of Assassin’s Creed creator Patrice Désilets, which he is working on when he was part of the now bankrupt THQ studio. When said company declared bankruptcythe IP and all its progress was sold to the French developer Ubisoft.
Unfortunately the situation became complicated when shortly after returning to Ubisoft, Désilets claimed to have been fired for different reasons. In short, this resulted in months of lawsuits and legal discussions in which it was concluded that Désilets would leave the studio and was therefore in some uncertainty the future of project 1666, about which we did not know more until now.
Even though everyone assumed that the project had been canceled Due to legal agreements, the company appears to have registered trademark 1666 on April 13 through the USPTO (United States Patent Office). This is a project that includes both a physical game as digital, although nowhere in the record does it mention the word “Amsterdam”.
