Xiaomi Black Shark 2 official, the gaming phone par excellence
About four months ago Xiaomi launched in China Black Shark 2 (review) and, today’s news, Black Shark 2 Pro is official with the brand new Snapdragon 855 Plus.
Design and display
The gaming phone comes with a design not very different from the standard version: the back now looks even more aggressive and there are RGB lights all over the place. The logo lights up and the dual cameras are positioned vertically.
Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro offers the same 19.5: 9 display as its predecessor and has a 6.39 inch AMOLED FHD + panel with an on-screen fingerprint reader. Touch latency is now 34.7ms representing an improvement over the current model’s screen 43.5ms touch latency.
There are only two storage options: 12/128 GB and 12/256 GB because the most significant update comes in the form of a processor thanks to the arrival of Snapdragon 855 Plus which encloses a 5% improvement in terms of CPU and 14% in terms of GPU compared to the Snapdragon 855. On AnTuTu the score was so high that it exceeded 500,000.
The storage is UFS 3.0, making it the third phone after the OnePlus 7 series and Asus ROG Phone 2 to have USB 3.0 storage with such faster read and write speeds.
There is a dual-camera setup on the back that includes a 48 Megapixel main Sony sensor with f / 1.75 aperture and a secondary 13 Megapixel wide-angle camera which is a small upgrade over the Black Shark 2’s 12 Megapixel secondary camera. front camera is a 20 megapixel f / 2.0 lens. The battery below, on the other hand, is a 4,000 mAh unit enabled for 27W fast charging.
Output and prices
Finally, as far as prices are concerned, the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro is available in various colors in addition to black / green and silver / blue. Here are the prices:
- 12 GB of RAM + 128 GB of ROM (about € 400 at the exchange rate)
- 12 GB of RAM + 256 GB of ROM – 3,499 Yuan (about 480 €)
The phone will go on sale starting August 2 in China. Still no indications on the launch in Italy.
