Activision confirms rumors about staff cuts

Last week We inform you how apparently Activision could have been involved in a series of layoffs within its own studio, due to layoffs casual game sales like Guitar Hero Live and Skylanders SuperChargers.

The company has finally confirmed that has had to fire several employees and is working with them to find another job as soon as possible. The reason is that the titles mentioned above had “weaker than expected” sales because, in the company’s words, “the casual audience has switched to mobile phones.” We remind you that Activision recently acquired King, the developer of Candy Crush, to occupy the mobile market.

When asked about Activsion about these rumors First of all, the company had explained the following:

We have seen the need to redirect our attention to align with Activision’s terms of priorities, because as always, our strategy involves stay ahead of an industry that is constantly changing. We are working with those who were impacted by these changes to offer relocation services and support.
