After all, how is HyperX doing after being purchased by HP? We check this and more at BGS 2023

Brasil Game Show, among many aspects, also serves as a thermometer, to check the behavior of the public we know as gamers, and their needs. To understand a little more about this, during BGS 2023, we visited the HyperX space, where we spoke with Daniel Boemer, responsible for sales in Brazil.

In our conversation, we were able to find out more about how the “new” HyperX is going, since it was purchased by HP, its new stance and products, as well as understanding a little more about consumer behavior, which has changed a lot in a few years, with many influences from the lockdown period remaining to this day.

BestyGames – About five years ago, we used to visit HyperX and realized that it was a place completely focused on the gaming universe. Today, with the HP partnership, bringing other solutions such as monitors and even printers, we notice that HyperX is no longer restricted to conversations just with gamers; she is communicating with people who seek product excellence. I would like to know if my perception is correct and how you are dealing with these people, including those who are not gamers, but need headphones to work comfortably, printers with different quality, monitors, etc.

Daniel Boemer: First, thank you for the visit and the interview once again here at the HyperX studio. And another Brasil Game Show. We celebrated 20 years of HyperX last year and we are celebrating 10 years of participation in the fair. Several points you mentioned are pertinent.

Let’s start by talking about specific releases for the gaming audience and then we’ll cover HyperX’s vision and where we’re going. At the launch of the fair aimed at gamers, we brought a restructuring of Cloud. The Cloud 3 offers much more comfort now, with memory foam that provides an even better feeling for hearing sounds, and so on.

The Cloud 3’s audio is cleaner, and audio pickup is also wider. It is a product that aims to further improve our Cloud line, which is our main one globally. Talking about the integration of HP into the life of HyperX, I believe it is to raise the level of HyperX itself, without changing our gaming DNA.

Today, we have a job market where gamers are working, and these gamers want to have HyperX accessories in their work environment as well. HP highlights that today we are living “One Life”. Everywhere, you can work, play, whether in a cafe, at home, on the plane or while traveling.

Therefore, HyperX products are adapting to this new moment we are living in. To further reinforce this partnership, we brought the ink tank printer signed by HyperX to the fair. Our ink tank printer is already a reference in the HP market, and nothing more fair than rewarding our HyperX fanatical consumers with a limited edition product.

Anyone who visits the HyperX stand at the fair has the opportunity to enhance their workspace, their gaming space, with a special edition HP ink tank printer. Furthermore, it is numbered, so there are 50 printers available at the fair that you won’t find anywhere else.

BestyGames: Another interesting thing I notice is that events and situations change behaviors. We had the lockdown that significantly changed people’s behavior, with more people working from home, and the gaming station turned into a workstation overnight. What did you take advantage of from this moment to bring the solutions we have today? What did this historical moment help you understand in terms of behavior and bring solutions? In the case of headphones, the new Cloud, I imagine there is something related, because if someone used a headset for 4 hours to play after work, now they are using the same 4 hours to play plus 8 hours of work, and so on. .

Daniel Boemer: Taking the hook from your question, which is super relevant, within this movement, we always understand what is happening at the current moment and we also use a lot of information from our consumers to create new products. The launch we had last year, the 300-hour Cloud Alpha Wireless, is part of that.

Why? The gaming consumer is still very accustomed to wired headsets, due to delays and other factors, and we managed to resolve all this structuring so that there is no delay in wireless. The same person who plays wirelessly is the same person who works, so they have 300 hours to use the headset to play games, work, watch a live stream or follow a recipe in the kitchen using the headset.

These are necessary adaptations, there is no way around it. This puts quality at the forefront. Therefore, quality products, combined with information from our consumers, help us understand what everyone wants.

BestyGames: Another thing I imagine is that the future, in addition to comfort and other aspects, involves products that are used all day long. Not just at home, but also at work, on the street. I would like to know what HyperX’s view is on this issue and what view you have on this possibility. Because, today, we are no longer just talking about gamers, as we were talking about five years ago. We are no longer talking about a product aimed just at gaming. We are talking about products aimed at the daily life of someone who likes games, but who also works, studies, takes the bus, subway, etc.

Daniel Boemer: I’m going to be a little broader on this question. By integrating HP into HyperX lives, we understand people’s need to use connected products from the moment they wake up until the moment they go to sleep. We have product standards for every moment of the day.

If you wake up and want to listen to a podcast to understand the world’s news, you can use a HyperX in-ear Bluetooth headset while carrying out your morning activities. There is a product for every moment of your day that adapts to your needs. At your workstation, we have HP products and Office products that can be beneficial to you.

If you are at leisure, we have HyperX products. HP acquired Polly, another accessories brand known in the corporate market, where you can hold meetings with cameras that follow the person who is speaking. Technology for every moment of the day. I believe that HP, considering all this movement, brought HyperX in-house and also brought Polly. Therefore, we have peripherals and accessories for every moment of the day.

BestyGames: To conclude, I will make space for you to mention something you would like to talk about and also to bring more of this vision of the new HyperX. Although the products maintain the same quality and excellence, we noticed changes in direction. So, we opened this space for you.

Daniel Boemer: Well, in addition to our gamer audience, we are investing a lot in our content creator audience. At Brasil Game Show, we are launching our first webcam to complement all the excitement of a content creator’s work. It’s no news that Quadcast, our microphone, is a hit in the world of streaming and content creation.

Last year, we launched our armed monitor, in two versions of 27 and 25 inches. And this year, we launched our first webcam, which comes in a very advanced configuration, with 4K and a 90-degree angle. I believe we can see a direction that HyperX wants to take along this path. Finally, in addition to our stand, which has our influencers to take photos and interact with the public, we have an incredible store on the right side of the stand.

This offers the opportunity for those who like HyperX to purchase products at even deeper discounts. Therefore, our product line has discounts of up to 57% at the fair. It’s a way of rewarding those who visit, like the brand and have the opportunity to purchase our products to take home and play today.
