HTC Desire S

When the HTC Desire was launched in spring 2010, it was considered a minor sensation: the first smartphone that could seriously compete with the iPhone. However, in the fast-moving IT world, it turned gray after just a few months and was replaced by the Desire S in spring 2011. Thanks to its aluminum unibody construction, the Desire S appears to be of significantly higher quality and more stable than its predecessor. HTC only makes the battery cover at the bottom and the camera bezel at the top of the back out of plastic. While the previous model still had mechanical buttons, in the S version they disappeared completely under the display – apart from the volume control and the off switch.
