HTC Sensation XE: First Android phone with Beats audio technology

HTC today introduced a new version of the Sensation dual-core smartphone, which was created in close collaboration with audio specialist Beats. The Sensation XE has a larger battery and comes with the “Beats by Dr. Dre” in-ear headphones

It has actually been clear for a long time that HTC is working on a new high-end smartphone. The now announced Sensation XE was not on anyone’s tip list. The specifications largely correspond to the Sensation, i.e. dual-core CPU with 1.5 GHz, 4.3-inch display and Android 2.3.4. However, the Sensation XE has a more powerful battery (1730 mAh) and looks a bit snappier at first glance.

In addition to 4 GB of internal memory, HTC supplies the device with a 16 GB SD card and in-ear headphones from Beats. The special thing about it: As soon as the in-ear headphones Beats by Dr. Dre are connected, the device automatically activates the Beats by Dr. Dre sound profile to play audio tracks in a version specifically tailored to the headphones.

The HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio will be available from October at a price of 589 euros or 769 CHF.
