SEGA confirms a Sonic The Hedgehog movie for 2018

A few days ago we told you that something was brewing at SEGA to celebrate Sonic’s 25th anniversarywhich will be held in 2016, and although everything pointed (and continues to point) to the announcement of a new game, today we learned that the company has news for the blue hedgehog, but not in the way we all thought.

He has been the CEO of SEGA Sammy, Hajide Satomi, who assured in an interview that they are working with Sony Pictures to release a movie about Sonic The Hedgehog. The film was scheduled for release in 2018 and It would mix animation and real image. The film, according to Mr. Satomi, will help the company expand its business to other areas of entertainment, so it is understood that if the experience is positive, it would not be surprising if other SEGA characters were encouraged to have their own film adaptation. .

Although we cannot say that all the video game experiences brought to the cinema have been good, we hope that this new impulse pushes the company to continue developing games about the former mascot of SEGA consoles, and that we will once again see quality titles in our consoles.
