Tattoo team sues ‘NBA 2K’ for unauthorized reproductions

NBA 2K16 developer Visual Concepts has recently been sued by a tattoo team for “unauthorized reproductions” of their creations.

The store is called Solid Oak Sketches and has introduced an official claim for the displayed tattoos of LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kenyon Martin, DeAndre Jordan and Eric Bledsoe; demand that will probably end up including all games in the series.

This case was previously seen in UFC Undisputed 3, where the tattoo artist of a lion from Carlos Condit ended up receiving a payment of $22,500, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The lawsuit against the NBA 2K series argues that these tattoos have a price of $572,000. However, taking into account that LeBron James appears on the cover of the game showing two of the tattoos, the artists consider that both are worth “at least four times the value of the rest of the tattoos,” raising the price to $819,500.
