Xiaomi packs a flagship processor into its new phone

Xiaomi has launched a range of products for its Poco sub-brand, including the Poco F4 GT, which features a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor.

Xiaomi’s Poco sub-brand is renowned for offering high-spec devices at low prices, including the Poco F3 or Poco X4 Pro, and luckily it looks like the tradition is still holding with its latest release.

The tagline boasts that the new Poco F4 GT is “the pinnacle of power”, and it’s not hard to see why that is given that it has the same flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 5G processor as the Xiaomi 12 Pro and OnePlus 10 Pro.

Fortunately, that’s not all the new phone has up its sleeve.

The AMOLED display measures 6.67-inches, with a 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, as well as a 480Hz touch sampling rate, which means it should be very responsive. It also supports over a billion colours, offers the full DCI-P3 color gamut and is HDR10+ compatible, so colors should look particularly accurate and punchy. Also, this panel is made from Gorilla Glass Victus, so it should be very durable as well.

There’s a triple camera setup on the back of the phone, and it’s led by a 64-megapixel main sensor, which is accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The front camera has a resolution of 20 megapixels.

The battery has a generous 4,700mAh capacity and, more importantly, supports 120W fast wired charging, with a charger included in the box as standard.
