Chinese iPhone 14 demand continues to outpace iPhone 13 and it’s not real yet
Apple’s yet-to-be-announced iPhone 14 lineup is expected to be particularly popular in China, according to analyst Kuo.
Writing on Twitter, Kuo expanded on earlier claims about Chinese demand by saying that further verification with distributors and retailers in the country suggested demand for the iPhone 13 continues to rise.
I recently spoke again with distributors/retailers/sellers in China, and they said that they believe that the potential demand for the iPhone 14 series in China continues to increase.
As for why demand is so high, Kuo believes it’s a simple case of market dominance: Apple “dominates almost the entire high-end smartphone market in China after Huawei left the smartphone market. 5G, which also means that the number of potential high-end smartphones iPhones have increased in number of users in the Chinese market,” he said.
Apple is expected to announce its new iPhone 14 lineup, including 4 new devices, around September. We also expect the new Apple Watch Series 8 and other wearable devices to arrive, while the new iPads are also a possibility. However, it is these new iPhones that are sure to grab the headlines this fall, especially in China if Kuo turns out to be in the money with the latest reports of him.
Apple’s current iPhone 13 is still the best iPhone for most people, whether they’re in China or not. Whether Apple moves this later in September or removes it from sale entirely remains to be seen.
