Guns’n Glory WW2: an (anti)war game?

There are many more or less amusing shooting games in the Android Market. Today we took a closer look at Guns’n Glory WW2, a game that is once again very reminiscent of Command & Conquer.

At Guns’n Glory there’s no hesitation. After a few presets you quickly find yourself in the middle of the battlefield. In our case in the Ardennes, where there is an Allied camp to defend against the Germans.

The game is elaborately made, boasts upgrade options and a whole number of different weapon groups. Therefore, at first glance it appears to be a visual treat. What really bothered us, however, was the unspeakable background music – a mixture of country, Musikantenstadl and strange carnival sounds. As we all know, the ear plays along! The C&C-like comments from the soldiers entrusted to you are also more silly than funny.
Basically, we are against war. We immediately noticed the ashen faces of the soldiers, which gave the impression that they needed some vitamins. The fact that the characters are almost exaggerated in the street art style also led to a loud laugh with one or two grimaces.
Conclusion: In the end, it is not clear what we are dealing with here: a sensory overload with an anti-war touch or a poorly advised glorification of war. We only give it 1.5 out of 5 stars.
